Cookies & privacy
Sennight uses the smallest amount of data needed to make a group pick a date โ and nothing else. No analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers.
๐ช The cookies we set
All of these are strictly necessary first-party cookies โ the app simply can't work without them. They expire on their own after 8 hours and never leave this site.
- Event session โ set once you enter an event's password, so you don't have to retype it on every page of that event.
- Organiser session โ set for the creator of an event, so the manage dashboard knows it's you.
- Edit-link session โ set when you open a personal edit link from your email, so you can change your own availability.
We also send a short, one-time security token (CSRF) with forms to stop other sites submitting on your behalf โ it isn't stored as a cookie.
๐ The information you give us
When you respond to an event we store the name you type and your availability. An email address is optional โ if you add one, it's used only to send the edit/login links you ask for, and to let the organiser reach you about the event. We don't email you anything else. Deleting an event removes its responses.
โ๏ธ Why there's no cookie pop-up
Under the EU ePrivacy rules and UK PECR, consent banners are only required for non-essential cookies (tracking, analytics, ads). Sennight sets only strictly necessary cookies for a service you actively requested, so no consent is needed โ this page is here for transparency. If you use a privacy browser that auto-clears cookies, you may be asked for an event's password again each visit; allowing cookies for this site keeps you signed in.
